Veronica was about 2 when she picked up her first paintbrush. I will always remember this photo as the first day she painted. Whether it was actually the first day or not, it is to me. Over the course of the next 2 years, I created many drawings and paintings using the circular, some call it an olive, image. FIRST IDEA came from the fact that in looking over my earliest works, the image has always been there in one way or another. FIRST IDEA was my first exhibit in years.
The paintings and the “olives” continue to haunt my work. Some of these paintings went on to become backgrounds for my PAPERDOLL series. The portraits of Veronica are just joyous expressions of a new Mom, anxious to share her love of creating with her only child.
Original art not in private collection is for sale. Reproductions are also available.
Many images can be reproduced as wall murals or commissioned as wall art.
